The subject says it all. Even if I have to pay for something that is fine as long as it works. Everyone says AVG is good but it really messed up my computer and I had 100 infected files it was not even seeing. Nortan 360 I tryed to but that is hardly accessible. Thanks a lot for any suggestions.
only one i've ever gone with is norton internet security. anti-virus, fire wall, anti-spam, the lot. works really well witl jaws. not sure what screenreader you use, but that's my take anyway. hth
Avast. Windows One Care. Bit Defender if your geeky. AVG is good, but it must be set correctly and run. Some quick fixes that you just have to start are Mcafee sting 3.8.0 and Microsofts Milisha Software tool. Thes are downloaded and run is all. If you computer is low powered all will take time to scan. You also should have a spyware program install with your virus program. If your not using an all in one like Norton, or Bit Defender, or Mcafee. All I have suggested except One Care require extra help. Spy Bot, Spy sweeper, and Add-aware are easy to use and work well. All free. Hope this helps.
I use Nod32 for antivirus. You have to pay for it, but it's accessible, and always worked well for me. I also use SpySweeper, but I paid for that, too. I don't mind, though. To me, you often get what you pay for, or don't pay for, so to speak.

I find Avast Anti-Virus pretty accessible. The only problem is the verification code after 60 days of usage, I guess you could email them.
I find Mcafee to be the most accessible easy-to-use virus software and/or firewall program to use. Works best with JAWS 7 and above. JAWS 6 like we have on our buggered desktop in the other room is a no-go very visual zone with Mcafee, but for example, on this laptop, I can perform quick clean, defrag and full manual scans with no sighted assistance required. I scheduled Mcafee to perform these functions every, single, day, giving any rogue hackers, worms, trojans, viruses or whatever, a very, very narrow 24-hour, 1 percent chance of fucking up my laptop, so that's all right with me, lol. Also, when you do perform a full-on manual virus scan or quick clean, you can clean every, single, inch of the laptop, nothing is missed out, everything is cleaned, from your basic hard drives, removable devices, Email in boxes, outlook Etc, to your System Restore points, recycle bin, registry or whatever, so it does a very good and very thorough job when it is needed, whereas, Norton Internet Security and Firewall's about as effective as a wet paper bag with huge great holes in it, as I found out to our cost when I tried it on our desktop and got virused almost straight away after I loaded the fucking thing, which really thrilled my mum down to the ground and meant we had to reboot the blimming thing all over again, so, hands up to Mcafee, probably the best and most effective firewall and virus software ever manufactured to date. I'd reccomend it to anybody, using JAWS 7 or over, definitely.

hahahahha I always used to hate McSquiffy, but i'll try it again lol.
On mine at the mo I have AVG 7.5 which works great, spyware guard and spyware blaster together from java cool software, which are for realtime protection, and regularly run spybot s and d and adaware personal as well. nothing, Ever, gets, through. They're also all free. so bleheheheheheheh.
To the last pstwer i can't get addaware to work. And can you have more than one anti spy ware program on the computer without the thinggoing nuts?
Oo! I doubt you should have two spyware or virus software programs on the computer at the same time. Takes up an awful lot of memory you know. Also, with Mcafee running scans and stuff every day for me, for the past 5 months, no kidding, nothing has got past it.

actually mine did go a bit loopy but better that than having yor computer go crunch. they work best in teams - don't worry. Some things don't like others which is why I've put the list of mine up here because I know they work for a fat.

sister dawn I tryed nod32 like everyone suggested but it does not work. am I doing something wrong or do I maybe have the wrong version? I do not mind paying for it either just wanted to know if the nod32 you have is called essent home security? Please if it is not let me know where you got yours. lol. thanks a lot.
